Melane Stud aims to produce a taller quality ridden horse with the main priority being temperament, versatility, movement and colour as a bonus. For many years I have had an interest in coloured horses but was unable to find a horse that matched my criteria. The horse had to have the ability to be able to perform in English disciplines (Show jumping, Eventing and Showing) as well as being suitable for the Western show ring.

All horses are carefully selected on temperament, proven performance bloodlines and conformation. We use a mixture of Paint Horses, Quarter Horses and also incorporate Thoroughbreds.

The Paint horses that we use are from proven National  performance bloodlines. We are looking at expanding our broodmares in the next few years and this will incorporate the Quarter Horse bloodlines of World Champions and Congress winners  under saddle.

We also use Thoroughbreds bloodlines to produce a taller more athletic horse with movement.
